Truth Came Running

It was the end of a long drive

Too many hours past midnight I forget

But he told me how he felt

And how everybody else

Didn't really understand the words that he'd been trying to say

Said he drifted from the main line

Too many hours in his own time, sigh, regret

So he kept things to himself

Cause now everybody else

Didn’t really understand the pictures he’d been trying to paint

He found it hard to talk about

The way they cut him out

How they bolted down the door

When the truth came running

They just shut their eyes

Like they couldn't bear the score

Like they couldn't take no more

Left him out of sight and out of mind

Drove him on like an outcast

A silent preacher to a deaf, defiant mass

So he kept things to himself

Cause now everybody else

Listens with a mind that's only ever really half engaged

He found it hard to talk about

The way they cut him out

How they bolted down the door

When the truth came running

They just shut their eyes

Like they couldn't bear the score

Like they could not take no more

Left him out of sight and out of mind

They found it hard to talk about

The way they cut him out

How they bolted down the door

When the truth came running

They just shut their eyes

Like they couldn't bear the score,

Like they could not take no more,

Left him out of sight and out of mind

Yeah they left him out of sight and out of mind
